As a leader, I have to be on top of the situation and act with urgency. If I suddenly become short-staffed before a deadline, I will immediately hire people to finish the tasks because I believe that trust and confidence in a particular business or organization is something of great value and as a leader, I cannot compromise my word of honor. When it comes to its quality, I do believe that I may contribute additional expenses because of the sudden and unforeseen situation but I know that it will be worth it than lose the trust of our customers. We have to value our word of honor no matter how hard it may seem. There is a saying that if there is a will, there’s a way. We can always find ways in such situations and we may sacrifice a little bit but we all know that in the end, these sacrifices will bear fruit especially in an organization where people have confidence and trust in you.

As a leader in an organization who is in such a dilemma, I have to have a clear mindset and think positive in such situations. I should be composed and think and act with professionalism. Time is always of the essence and giving importance to other people’s time is also a sign of respect. So I think this also reflects a manager’s values and aspirations for the company or for the team. We have to remember that as a manager, people look up to us and management is something that we do to improve other people around us.

Management may be responsible for implementing tactics and organizing the actions that move a business toward its goals, but it’s leadership that sets those goals. Leaders determine a group’s overarching vision, goals, and direction, while managers handle the nuts and bolts of charting the course to get there.
