A plastic bottle is a bottle constructed from plastic. Plastic bottles are typically used to store liquids such as water, soft drinks, motor oil, cooking oil, medicine, shampoo, milk and ink. The size ranges from very small sample bottles to large carboys.

Plastic bottles were first used commercially in 1947 but remained relatively expensive until the early 1960s when high density polyethylene was introduced. They quickly became popular with both manufacturerers and customers due to their lightweight nature and relatively low production and transportation costs compared with the glass bottles. However, the biggest advantage of plastic bottles have over glass is their superior resitance to breakage.

Now that the production of plastic bottles in most of the daily products that the people consumed resulted to more trashes and problem in the proper disposal of plastics. The reason why the Innovative project of San Atonio Elementary School has emerged.

The primary objectives of using Plastic Bottles for Container Gardening were as follows:
To promote old tires as garden decorator;
To lessen weeds in the plants;
To inculcate in the minds of the pupils that bottle can be a garden;
To give students ideas on how to grow vegetables/plants in the plastic bottle.

Activities to be undertaken are the following; Planning with Teachers to give information about the project;

Meeting with parents to simulate interests and enthusiasm among them;

Submission of the Project Proposal to seek approval from the DepEd Higher Officials on the implementation of the project

Data Gathering to monitor the harvest;

Evaluation of the project to gauge the effectivity of the project

The Project was started on September 2016 and be continued yearly for the sustainability of vegetable harvest using the Plastic bottle as a Container Gardening.
