The action in collegiate sports is back with the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) season 87 with its theme Stronger, Better, Together. Bannering this year’s men’s basketball tournament are the defending champions De La Salle Green Archers, the UP Fighting Maroons, Ateneo Blue Eagles, UE Red Warriors, UST Growling Tigers, NU Bulldogs, Adamson Soaring Falcons, and the FEU Tamaraws.
We watched the games live on September 28 and 29, 2024 at the Mall of Asia Arena (MOA) and Smart Araneta Coliseum, respectively. The MOA game was between the UP Fighting Maroons and the Adamson Soaring Falcons where the UP Fighting Maroons won after making a big comeback. The MOA game also included the basketball match between the NU Bulldogs and the UE Red Warriors where the Warriors emerged victorious.
The Araneta game was between the De La Salle Green Archers and the UST Growling Tigers followed by the Ateneo Blue Eagles versus the FEU Tamaraws. DLSU won against UST while FEU won their first game of the season against the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles.
