There is no constant in the world but change. Change in the way we live, the way we communicate, our culture and specially our values. As a teacher I witness the fast-changing behavior of our pupils. Everyday our pupils could behave differently. Some had negative behavior such as screaming, crying, not participating with all the activities in school and even speaking with hateful words. The reason for such is lack of discipline, that should be found first at home.
Parents are their children’s first teacher. It is from parents that learn about their culture, values and language. Parents play a valuable role in their children’s education in and out the classroom. Because of this reason, parents need to take on the challenge and provide their children tools they will need to be successful in school and most importantly in their life. Education does not involve acquiring academic qualifications it also involves learning how to be a productive member of society, it involves learning how to be figure everyday problem; by talking to them, parents can help them increase their vocabulary, they help their children in their receptive language, and they help their children feel empowered. Also, parents that talk with their children build lasting positive and strong relationships. Parents are the model of their children, so it is important to have a quality time with them, by simply setting rules and giving responsibility at home their children will develop a well rounded being that would be brought in their respective schools.
They say it takes a community to build one child, parents’ involvement is a paramount and feed the fundamental characteristic of a child, they serve role by providing positive affirmations, conveying love and respect and engendering sense of security. While on the other hand, School provides structured environment where children interact with peers the school has a significant impact on the social and emotional development of children, it fosters social skills, empathy and teamwork. And last is the environment, a child’s ability to grow, learn and explore requires a healthy and safe environment. Children who grow up in less-than-ideal emotional environments tend to struggle in the future and unable to form meaningful relationships as they grow up. Having the strong support to every child can help our child change their behavior in a positive way. Hence with all this matter our future will be brighter for we build our next generation strong, well equip and armored with knowledge, wisdom and most of all Values.
