There are lots of adversities that had come our way and every time, we always find a way to work it through. As that for our dilemma in education where there had been more than two years of school closure, we still were able to find a way to continue education amidst the pandemic. Despite a lot of struggles and challenges to make it work, education continued as it is one of the most important parts of our society.
School administrators, teachers, learners, and everyone including our stakeholders had faced a lot of difficulties during remote learning; however, it’s a good thing that modern science gave us a lot of avenues to make learning possible. We had remote learning done online where various platforms like Google Classes, Google Meet, and Zoom became handy; modular, radio, and tv teaching-learning materials. This would not all be possible without the help of science and technology. Nevertheless, this posed a lot of uncertainties and at the same time opportunities to our learners.
With the resumption of face-to-face classes in the post-pandemic time, the quality of education in our country is facing a learning crisis. This required us to become more vigilant in what we teach our learners. Still, with the technologies and sciences that we used during remote learning that are still being used now, learners are given chance to focus more in improving this subject matter. Academics has never been more competitive due to these limitless opportunities to explore – competitive in a way that our learners must be able to catch up with the lost learning and time during restrictions and lockdowns.
Everything one wants to know is now at the tip of our fingers. By just typing one, two, or even more than five keywords in a search bar in an internet browser, one could already see, read or learn what they want. The rise of the internet has enabled scientific results to be publicized more rapidly than ever before possible. Articles that are helpful to learners and teachers are already made available online. Through this, more people can collaborate in pursuing an endeavor. As they say, the world became smaller as each one of us is now connected in a world that was made possible by Science.
We are now at a brink of a moment where it is now or never. We must enable ourselves to focus on our goal which is to recover and become better every day at our craft. To our students, we must teach them that it is always a good idea to think of ways to become someone and never be satisfied with what you already have.
Learning Science equips us with the proper explanation of how an unknown phenomenon happens, and on creating solutions to problems based on natural laws, principles, and common knowledge obtained from real society. From changing the means of communication to the way we work and teach our students; we must become more competitive and aim for the better.
Science is a never-ending process that continually changes for us to refine and expand our knowledge about almost everything. We will be facing a lot more adversities in the future, yet one thing is certain, Science will never be “finished.” It is a human endeavor to always become better than they are yesterday may it be in society or academics. Remember, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger as the famous song of Kelly Clarkson goes. We may face challenges and difficulties again. Still, let us develop our students’ scientific skills, values, and attitudes to become learners who have a clear grasp of being able to become someone in the world at par with others.
