Abstract
        The purpose of the study is to assess the effectiveness of the Project READ (Reading Enhancement Using Available  e-Devices of Learners at Home) in selected students of Grade 8 Rizal.  Specifically, it will seek to answers the following questions: 1.What are the mean  scores in the output before the implementation of Project READ. 2.What are the mean  scores in the output in after the implementation of Project READ. 3.Is there a significant effect of using Project READ in the respondents? 4.  What are the students’ perceptions of the Project READ? A purposive sampling is used to investigate and find if the project implemented will have great effect or impact to the target or specific respondents.  The study used a descriptive method throughout the investigation. This descriptive method is often combined of comparison or contrast involving measurements classification, interpretation, and evaluation. Thus in the present study, the researcher conducted and have assessed the significant effect of using Project R-E-A-D:  Strategic Tool For Boosting Academic Performance In Filipino 8. (Reading Enhancement Using Available E-Devices At Home) A questionnaire checklist was used to supplement the gathering data. The statistical treatment was used to analyzed and interpret the data given by the respondents. After the questionnaire-checklist was administered to the respondents, all the data were gathered, analyzed, tabulated, and interpreted. Spreadsheet application was used to get the statistical result needed. Then, the results were checked, computed, and validated of the results.The table presented above, the mean after administering the post test was 13.9. The mean difference between pre-test and post is greater from 6.00 to 13.9, it signifies that there was a great effect on the academic performance in Filipino.
The data were statistically treated using paired t-test. The achievement in pre-test are paired to the achievement in post test. The t-value of 6.7061 is greater than the t-critical of 2.101 and with supported p-value of 0.0000, has the analysis of Significant.
Based on the data, it is shown that there is “ significant effect of using Project READ on academic performance of Grade 8 Rizal students in online distance learning in the respondents in terms of pre test and post test” at 0.05 level of significance.
Table 5 shows the level of perception of the students on Project READ using online platform  (google meet and video call) . It further includes that the first statement ” The content is adequate in covering the scope specified by the objectives’’, had a mean of 3.50 and SD of 0.58, verbally interpreted as “Strongly Agree”. The second statement ” The presentation catches and holds the students’ interests.”, had a mean of 3.25 and SD of 0.50, verbally interpreted as ” Agree”. The third statement ” It focused and engaged to comprehend a topic or lesson in Filipino”, had a mean of 3.25 and SD of 0.96, verbally interpreted as ” Agree”. The fourth statement ” It boost the awareness of the students to complete the assigned tasks more actively”  had a mean of 3.50 and SD of 0.58, verbally interpreted as “Strongly Agree”. The fifth statement ” The one-on-one reading exercise was being done naturally”, had a mean of 3.75 and SD of 0.50, verbally interpreted as “Strongly Agree”. The last statement ”    It inspires the student to track their progress and performance in school”, had a mean of 3.25 and SD of 0.50, verbally interpreted as “Agree”.
Table 6 shows the level of perception of the students on Project PRISM. It further includes that the first statement “Video is direct to the topic”, had a mean of 3.50 and SD of 0.55, verbally interpreted as “Strongly Agree”. The second statement “The audio was clear and smooth had a mean of 3.17 and SD of 0.75, verbally interpreted as ” Agree”. The third statement “The video is immersive and creative”, had a mean of 2.83 and SD of 0.75, verbally interpreted as “Agree”. The fouth statement ” The background music suits on topic of the video “, had a mean of 3.50 and SD of 0.55, verbally interpreted as “Strongly Agree”. The fifth statement ” The video can be understood and can be learned easily even by children. “, had a mean of 3.33 and SD of 0.52, verbally interpreted as “Strongly Agree”. The last statement “
The video was interesting and inspires the student to track their progress and performance in school”, had a mean of 3.33 and SD of 0.82, verbally interpreted as ” Strongly Agree”.
Selected 10 students from different section in grade 8 under modular distance learning reached the mastery level of 80% MPS mean percentage score after the implementation of the project.
Project READ implies three electronic devices available at home and based on the data shown the e-devices were have significant effect on the reading skills,  comprehension and in academic performance of the respondents. Using google meet and video call were fit and suitable device for this project The students’ perception on Project READ had verbal interpretation of agree and strongly agree, it means that the project had positive feedback and satisfy with the implemented project.
