BIÑAN CITY, Laguna–Mapalad ang Lungsod ng Biñan dahil ito ang napiling lugar sa loob ng 17 munisipalidad na nakapaligid sa Laguna Lake na pinagdausan ng tree growing activity bilang tampok na gawain sa ng pagdiriwang ng 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary noong Setyembre 18.

Umabot ng 1,124 na mga kawayan at namumungang puno ang naitanim sa sa Esplanade sa may baybayin ng Brgy. Dela Paz kung saan nagging panauhing pangdangal si Chairman Carlo Nograles ng Civil Service Commission.

Sa kanyang mensahe ay sinabi ni Mayor Arman Dimaguila na palalakasin niya ang Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) upang magkaroon ito ng kapangyarihang magpatupad ng kanilang mga programang pakikinabangan ng lahat ng naninirahan sa nasasakupan nito.

Isa aniya rito ay ang dredging o paghuhukay ng lawa ng Laguna upang maiwasan ang patuloy na pagbaha sa mga bayan na problema ito tuwing tag-ulan.

Ibinida ni Mayor Dimaguila na kung bakit mabilis humupa ang pagbabaha sa kanilang lugar ay nagsisimula na silang maghukay ng kanilang mga ilog. Ito aniya ang naging solusyon nila na problema sa pagbaha partikular ang mga nasa baybayin ng lawa.

Pinasalamatan ni Mayor Dimaguila ang tanggapan ng Civil Service Commission sa isinagwang tree growing dahil magsisilbi aniya itong panangalang sa pagbaha at lilim sa mga mamamasyal sa Biñan Esplanade.
