CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – An information and help desk will be posted in all public hospitals in Laguna to assist the public on specific needs while seeking medical treatments.
In a press briefing, Governor Sol Aragones said the help desks will serve as complaint centers and information hubs as part of the provincial government’s healthcare reform and “Isumbong mo kay Gob” program.
The help desks will operate 24/7 to receive complaints from patients and their families, directly address health concerns, gather suggestions from the general public, and assist the public in availing financial and medical assistance programs.
“The Isumbong Mo Kay Gov program not only receives negative feedback to be addressed, but also serves as a guide for our patients—showing them where to go, whom to talk to, and what assistance they need,” Aragones said.
Through designated desk officers, patients will be guided on how to avail themselves of specific health services and assistance from the provincial government.
“Often, patients enter the hospital without knowing what to do first or where to go—especially when they are anxious because a loved one is in critical condition. In such situations, they do not know what to do. That is why the Help Desk is important, as it provides assistance and guidance on where they should go,” she added.
Laguna has hired 90 personnel who will be assigned across the province’s nine district hospitals.
Aragones noted that the help desk is just one of the reforms aimed at providing better health coverage for Lagunenses. She called on the public to cooperate in making the program effective in addressing their healthcare needs.
Among her initial directives as governor are the issuance of an executive order prohibiting ill-tempered government employees from serving in district hospitals, and the continued cleanup and modernization of equipment and facilities in state-run hospitals across Laguna.
