Only a small percentage of educators nowadays teach subjects outside of their areas of specialty due to the existing state of the educational system, which creates challenges and stress for the subjects that theses said teachers teach.

Due to the current state of the educational system, teachers frequently impart knowledge on areas unrelated to their field of employment or the disciplines they completed their college coursework in. Teachers therefore require assistance with both teaching the material and managing their stress being the difficulties caused by this mismatch.

It is claimed that in order to instruct confidently and effectively, teachers need to be experts on the subject and capable of understanding and using a well-organized curriculum that is taught in the classroom. For the required course, they need to have enough teaching and learning experiences since higher student achievement is influenced by subject-specific expertise in their subjects and the professors’ knowledge. According to some, an educator who is not a subject matter expert or someone with content expertise does not receive a suitable education. Consequently, when teachers teach in a subject unrelated to their area of expertise, it might be difficult for them to handle the issues of instructional mismatch brought about by this learning environment.

Mismatched teaching loads are a common practice in the Philippines. Due to professors that are not in alignment, especially in the elementary department. Nevertheless, over time, one of the most talked-about issues in the Philippine school system has been the caliber of teachers.

In general, non-specialized MAPEH teachers’ coping strategies suggests that when teaching MAPEH, non-specialized teachers’ coping strategies can occasionally be seen. They used a variety of coping strategies to deal with the pressure and complexity of teaching even though they weren’t majoring in this subject, including the subject matter’s constituent parts. The educators are aware of the benefits of stress management and are working toward their own duties and obligations in the teaching field. Therefore, it is safe to say that the teachers nowadays are continually evolving and are all striving to do their best and to serve the Filipino learners despite the varying challenges that they face.
