CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – Motorists can expect ease of travel across Calabarzon provinces with the completion of five road projects under the Marcos Jr. administration’s ‘Build Better More’ infrastructure program.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region IV-A said five bypass roads converted into national roads will help decongest traffic and provide alternative routes across the region.
DPWH4A regional director Jovel Mendoza said the construction of more roads will also speed up economic growth and development.
“Everything we do is focused on the goal of improving our quality of life through safer and better roads, bridges, and other facilities that will speed up the flow of transportation and commerce,” he added.
“The programs, projects, and activities of our office are clearly aligned with the Bagong Pilipinas governance agenda of the administration. With the leadership of Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, we strictly follow his directives to guarantee that every step we take supports the goal of delivering faster and more efficient services to the public,” Mendoza said.
The new road structures include the 1.274-kilometer Alaminos-San Pablo Diversion Road giving improved travel convenience for passengers and motorists travelling from Manila to Quezon Province. The route will avoid heavy traffic along the Maharlika Highway. Although a large portion of the project has been completed, the remaining eight-kilometer stretch of the road is expected to be finished by 2026.
In Cavite, the Bacoor-Imus Link Road eases traffic in the cities of Bacoor and Imus by offering alternative routes to the commonly-used Daang Hari Road, which connects the two cities.
Completed in 2024, the Molino-Daang Hari flyover – also known as the “Great Wall of Bacoor” – located along Bacoor-Dasmariñas Road, reduces travel time from Bacoor to Dasmariñas.
In Batangas, the Batangas City-San Pascual-Bauan Road, which spans 8.905-kilometers, has improved travel to the towns San Pascual, Bauan, and Mabini. Motorists no longer need to pass through the Batangas Port area, helping ease congestion and reducing travel time. Meanwhile, the STAR Tollway-Pinamucan Road also shortens travel time for those coming from Manila to Batangas City.
Mendoza noted the near completion of the Lipa-Padre Garcia Diversion Road, which is expected to reduce traffic congestion in Lipa City by providing an alternative route for motorists traveling to Rosario and Padre Garcia in Batangas.
He appealed to the public for continued cooperation and understanding as development projects are still ongoing in some parts of the region.
He emphasized that the department continues to deliver projects compliant with safety and quality standards for roads and bridges, enabling faster public transportation and boosting economic growth.
